ACT FIVE: FREE AT LAST!

“There was a Holy Place into which man might enter. There was a Most Holy into which he might not enter. The veil shut him out. And Christ’s one work was to tear down that veil, and give us the right and the fitness to enter, to dwell always in that heretofore inaccessible place. The mystery of the rent veil, of the opened entrance into the Holiest, is the one thing we need to learn….” Andrew Murray, The Holiest of All

“…the two compartments of the tabernacle represent two degrees of nearness to God, two dispensations of God’s grace, or two stages in the Christian life, a lower and a higher. Into the Holy Place every priest might come daily to do there the service God had appointed. Into the Most Holy he might not enter till Christ had opened it for all believers. Many believers never in experience enter into this life of the inner sanctuary, the more complete and abiding nearness to God. They have,,.in the outer court, seen the altar, and received the pardon of sin; they have entered upon the service of God, they seek to do His will, but the joy of His presence as their abiding portion they know not. And very often they do not know that there is a better life, that there is an entering within the veil, a real dwelling in the secret of God’s presence…” Andrew Murray, The Holiest of All

“Yes, Christ passed form the Holy Place into the Holiest of All. When he died, the veil was rent in twain, the two compartments were made one…In Christ the veil of the flesh was rent asunder and taken away. The free access to God was opened up, not only as a thing of right and title in virtue of our pardon, but as a thing of power and living reality.” Andrew Murray, The Holiest of All

"As soon as Christ died, that moment of all moments in the history of this earth − the darkest, if you look at it as man would look at it − was the opening up of the brightest era that ever was disclosed upon this earth. All bore witness to Him. “The rocks rent,” “the graves opened,” and so on. But who was the first, beloved friends? God! Oh, may it touch every heart! “The veil was rent from the top to the bottom.” It was not only that we can go in; no, but God can come out, a much greater thing. He who dwelt in thick darkness, He can come out. What do you mean? On His own estimate of that blood, He can come out and embrace a poor prodigal, though he be “a great way off.” Love travels faster than necessity." James S. Butler

"We have a High Priest, a perfect Priest who sits in the place of honor in the higest heavens, at the right hand of the throne of the Majstic One, a Minister within the heavenly sanctuary setup by the Lord, not by human hands." Hebrews 8:1-2

The Jerusalem Temple, its building of brick and mortar, was a "type" of what the Father had purposed in His Son, the True Temple of God. Jesus was quite explicit about this:

"The Father does not dwell in temples made by hands." Matthew 11:25

This was a mysterious saying to the disciples who walked under the shadow of Herod’s temple in Jerusalem. I don't think they quite got it, at least, not then. But, it was later, something tremendous happened! Pentecost! Now they got it because the Ascended Jesus “descended” again to live "in them." They knew by experience what it meant to be "temples of the living God!"

And for over 300 years, there were no special "temples" for worship built by these "Christ-Dwellers." What would be the point in that? They themselves, assembled together, were His sanctuaries. The glory and the splendor of their God dwelt in them.

To build a temple for His presence of brick, mortar and stained glass and call it “the house of God” would be a mockery of everything Jesus bled and died for.

"In Him each separate piece of building, properly fitting into its neighbor, grows together into a temple consecrated to the Lord You are all part of this building in which God himself lives by his Spirit.” Ephesians 2:21-22

The idea of "going to church" would have been foreign in the ears of these early believers: "Say what? Go to church? You’re put’n us on! We ARE the church! The Building of His Habitation!”

To build a separate building of brick and mortar and call it “The House of God” was to go back to the idea of a God who dwelt in buildings made by hands. And they knew, Oh! how they knew! It just wasn't so!

"Within the Veil": be this, belov'd, thy portion,
  Within the secret of thy Lord to dwell;
Beholding Him, until thy face His glory,
Thy life His love, thy lips His praise shall tell.

"Within the Veil," for only as thou gazest
Upon the matchless beauty of His face,
Canst thou become a living revelation
Of His great heart of love, His untold grace.

"Within the Veil," His fragrance poured upon thee,
  Without the Veil, that fragrance shed abroad;
"Within the Veil," His hand shall tune the music
Which sounds on earth the praises of Thy Lord.

"Within the Veil," thy spirit deeply anchored,
  Thou walkest calm above a world of strife;
"Within the Veil," thy soul with Him united,
Shall live on earth His resurrection life.

Lord Jesus, we thank you that you did for man what man could not do for himself. You defeated the prince of this world and all of the powers of darkness and you set up Your kingdom right here in this earth among your people. You built a temple in which to dwell with the Father right here within your people. A temple not seen by natural eyes or touched with natural hands, but a temple that bears your Name. A temple where the true worshippers worship their Lord and their God. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your abiding presence within your temple, within our hearts. Mitzi North

ACT FOUR: CALVARY'S FOUNTAIN

Copyright "Face of Christ Crucified" by Ann Chapin, used by permission.

"My Jesus! loaded with contempt, nail my heart to Your feet, that it may ever remain there, to love You and never leave You again." Alphonsus Liguori

"Come now my soul, and worship this man, this God. Come believer, and behold thy Savior. Come to the innermost circle of all sanctity, the circle that contains the cross of Christ, and here sit down."  Charles Haddon Spurgeon

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross
Isaac Watts

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

"Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:4-6

ACT FOUR/INTRO
CALVARY'S FOUNTAIN

Now we come to the second beginning because the first beginning fell from its great heights! A new beginning for all of us, conceived in the heart of God before time, before the foundation of the world.  A new beginning wherein God corrects the wrong of the Fall, to bridge the chasm, and to consummate "The Plan."

This is where our beloved Jesus paid the penalty for our sin—so that we might enter in,
this fellowship with the Father, even as Jesus knew it, before time, before the foundation of the world.

"And I will continue to speak of Your name Father, in order that Your love, which was poured out on Me, will be in them. And I will be in them also." John 17:26

"In love HE predestinated us unto the Son-Place through Jesus Christ, so that we might learn to praise His glorious generosity wherein He has made us welcome in the everlasting love He bears toward The Beloved." Ephesians 1:5-6

And He brought to this earth the fellowship, that existed before time, so that the Father and the Son would tabernacle in us, to enter our hearts...THE HOPE OF GLORY!

"And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only Begotten from the Father, full of grace and reality.”

Know beloved, that all His pain, all His suffering, all His blood wasn’t so that we might just have a place in heaven, "In the sweet by and by." That’s not God’s plan at all and never was.  His eternal plan is that we might know His divine fellowship, in us, HERE and NOW!

Ah! You say. That’s heresy! But hear me out! Or rather, hear Paul:

"May Christ through your faith dwell in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love…that you may be filled through all your being unto all the fullness of the Godhead bodily and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself!" (Ephesians 3:17, 19)

This is not heaven above but God’s passion to be HERE and NOW! With us and in us!

Oh beloved! God’s passion is to come to this earth and…“…be glorified IN His saints and to be marveled at IN all those who have believed…” 2 Thessalonians 1:10

This is God’s passion for you! This is God’s passion for Himself and His Eternal Plan! To have a vessel on earth to magnify and multiply His Triune life of Joy! Communion! and Fellowship in Himself, in the Godhead before time!

So beloved, gaze upon the wounds of Christ! Know that all HIS pain was to purchase HIS glory and place in you, HERE and NOW! It is truly His Passion! Oh yes! There’s much more to come. No denying that!
But this foretaste of future glory has been veiled and neglected for centuries. It’s been hidden under moldy-smelly layers of ecclesiastical traditions that have lost sight of His “Eternal Purpose.”  But “If that which heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father” (I John 2:24).

Jesus Christ is seeking a place to rest His glorious Head! He is looking for His rightful home and place on earth. He is looking for a people who will give HIM the place HE deserves. He is looking for His church where His headship can be expressed, not through a single pastor, priest, or preacher, but through each and every member by His indwelling expression in them.

“OH COME AND SEE!”

“It was God who was personally present in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not holding against them their sins but canceling them…

“For our sake He made Christ to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:19, 21

ACT FOUR

CALVARY’S FOUNDATION

Behold! A ROMAN CROSS!
Blood-stained by the sin-wounds of the
Lamb of God!
Slain! with “extreme prejudice”
from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8)

Behold! HIS HEAD!
CROWNED in the eternals before time
With ALL authority and honor…
CROWNED by every star that glimmers.
In the heavenly places.
CROWNED by radiant joy as it dwelt
in the Father’s bosom. (John 1:18)
CROWNED by the MUSIC OF THE SPHERES
That sings His glory in antiphonal praise!

But now!

HIS HEAD!
See it bowed under the weight of this mockery
of a “crown” woven by the hate of men
who didn’t understand…
that Jesus wore the crushing thorns of every man’s sins
your sins and mine…

He bears it regally this crown of shame.
A shame that cuts deep!
A shame that defiles and desecrates
His Sublime, Majestic Purity!
A shame that oozes and bleeds into His beloved eyes
And blinds Him to His FATHER’S presence
In HIS OWN HEART!*
Hear Now His Heart-Wrenching
Heart-Melting
Heart-Splitting Cry—

“My God! My God! Why have You forsaken Me?”

But the Father was there all along
Loving the world through His Son! (2 Cor. 5:19)

Behold! His VEIL OF FLESH (Hebrews 10:1-25)
His body, lovingly prepared by the Father (Hebrews 10:5)
Is Ripped to Shreds from top to bottom
By the Roman scourge of their brutality!
After all, in the day of the Caesars
Human flesh was cheap!

“Come one—come all!”
“Watch this so-called "king" reduced to blood and bone right before your eyes!”
The Pharisees gawk and wonder in scorn:
“Yes! This pathetic form of a man isn’t our idea of a “Messiah?
Yes! This imposter is getting just what HE deserves
for slandering the temple we built for God’s glory!”

Now Behold! HIS FACE…
THE FACE that beheld in rapturous love HIS FATHER
In the Celestials before time
Before the foundation of the world.
THE FACE that caused angels to swoon in joy
THE FACE that is FAIRER THAN TEN-THOUSAND TO MY SOUL!
Is covered with the
WICKED SPIT and BRUTAL PUNCHES
Of men seeking amusement and distraction from the burden and boredom
Of their wretched existence.

THE FACE the FATHER adores is marred more than any man!
ALL OF HEAVEN turns its face in grief
AND WEEPS at the sight.
And the angels look and wonder…

“At such a cost would God be willing to go through this
pain and anguish for…the Plan…to Redeem man back to God?

Then Behold! HIS HOLY HANDS
so filled with mercy!
THE HANDS that knelt that first day of Creation
to craft a man out of dust.
THE HANDS that caressed the leper’s face and healed
the sick
the lame
the blind.
THE HANDS that mended the broken-hearted
And Held the little ones so lovingly…and blessed them…
Are Invaded WITHOUT MERCY!
by the Hammer Blows of
NINE-INCH NAILS!

Demonic legions Gather ‘round the cross and grin
with each strike of the hammer!
If there’s ever been a moment of joy in hell
IT IS THIS MOMENT!

Now lower your eyes to Behold! HIS FEET!
The FEET that Danced with His Father
Before the birth of star-shine!
Becoming the tiny feet of a baby
Kicking straw in a manger’s crib.

The blessed feet of J E S U S!
Covered by the tears and kisses of a harlot who found
REDEMPTION! and SWEET FORGIVENESS in His Love!

Now HIS FEET follow His Father’s will to the uttermost!
are hammered to the unforgiving wood!

Demonic legions howl in scorn:
"This 'Jesus' won't be kicking us around NO MORE!
We'll make sure to that! That’s what He gets for casting us into pigs!”

Oh Beloved! Now Behold!
HIS BLESSED HEART!
Dearest of sinners!
Despised by demons!
A HEART that hungers for every lost sheep.
A HEART bigger than the sky
In a body of flesh too small to hold such a miracle!
PIERCED by a soldier’s ice-cold lance!
Freeing His heart from its prison of flesh (Hebrews 10:5)
And liberating an Immaculate Flood of blood and water! (John 19:34)

CHRIST THE SON becomes the Mother
giving birth to the Father’s children!
Granting divine power to become
The Children of God to anyone who will Simply Come and Dance
In His wounds!

Never further than Thy Cross,
Never higher than Thy feet,
Here earth’s precious things seem dross,
Here earth’s bitter things grow sweet.

Gazing thus our sin we see,
Learn Thy love while gazing thus;
Sin which laid the Cross on Thee;
Love which bore the Cross for us.

Lord Jesus, You are Your Father's Son. Full of love, full of mercy, and full of compassion. You carry His heart and His devotion deep within. His Love compelled You to continue when You knew what lay ahead. His Love kept you abiding in the heavenlies while this earth sought to drag You to Your knees. Your Father's Love was the power that turned the course for all of us. His Love for You and His Love for us. And now, because of Your actions, in response to His Love, we too enter into this love relationship with You and Him. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving Your Father so much. Mitzi North

ACT ONE: THE FELLOWSHIP BEFORE TIME

“God is love” (I John 4:8) and this means that He is a community of loving Persons. His very being, His existence is to love. For God, to be is to love. This means that God is constantly leaving Himself to give Himself to and to exist in Another. Each person of the Trinity exists in relationship toward Another. God is Father in relationship to the Son. The Son exists and lives only in and for the Father to whom He gives Himself entirely. Their mutual love expresses itself in a procession of Personified love, the Holy Spirit. To pray in the heart is to experience this immense circulation of love among the Persons within the divine family, drawing us into that same community of love.” George A. Maloney S.J,, Invaded by God: Mysticism and the Indwelling Trinity

“When we encounter God there is no individual to confront. For we encounter and are drawn into relationship, reciprocity, the dynamism of mutual love and self-giving going on within God. Utterly unlike the splendid isolation of the “Supreme Being” of conventional monotheism, the life of the Trinity known in Christian worship and prayer has within itself the fullness of what we experience in community, intimacy and sacrificial love!

“Prayer is already going on in God. In the love the All-embracing Father has for the Son, and in the love the Son has for the Father, in the issuing of the Spirit from the Father and the Spirit’s return in the love of the Son, there is everything we mean by prayer—intimacy, adoration, self-offering, love, desire, crucifyingly acute sympathy for a world torn by pain and joy. Our prayer is not making conversation with God. It is joining the conversation that is already going on in God. It is being invited to participate in the relationships of intimacy between Father, Son and Holy Spirit. There is an eternal dance already in full swing, and we are caught up in to it. Prayer is allowing ourselves to join the dance and experience the movements, the constant interplay of the Persons of the Trinity.” Martin L. Smith, The Word is Very Near You: A Guide to Praying with Scripture

“The Great Dance has been from all eternity and first and foremost in the Love that has always been going on between the Father and the Son. Lewis (C.S.) says, ‘What grows out of the joint life of he Father and the Son is a real Person, is in fact the Third of the three Persons who are God.’ To enter into the Dance, then, is to enter the Holy Spirit and to enter the living, dynamic activity of Love that has always been between the Father and the Son.” Leanne Payne, Real Presence: The Glory of Christ with Us and Within Us

ACT ONE/INTRO

THE FELLOWSHIP BEFORE TIME

There is only one way to begin this journey and it is by first turning our attention to Paul’s glorious words of praise and proclamation in his opening remarks in his letter to the Ephesian ekklesia ( 1:3):

"Blessed be the God and father of our lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world to be holy and without blemish before him in love."

A.C. Gaebelein writes of this passage in Ephesians (“God’s Masterpiece"):

"...this is without doubt the greatest doxology in the entire Word of God” and “is the key to the great revelation which follows in this chapter…the bud which the Holy Spirit gradually unfolds.”

Everything in the Christian life flows out of this revelation given to Paul. In order to know, to appreciate, what the spiritual blessings are in the heavenly realms, we must step back before time, before the foundation of the world, a time so hidden from us by our mortal frame and yet from where we derive “all spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ…before the foundation of the world.”

This place before time in the joint life of the enthroned Father and the Son is the headwaters of the Christian life. In that place, the heavenly realm, before time, there was only One who was before the Father “holy and without blemish” and that was Christ, the Son of God.

In this place before time, there was a fellowship in the Godhead, between the Father and the Son. John writes of this fellowship in rhapsodic prose in his first epistle (1:1-4):

“We are writing to you about something which has always existed yet which we ourselves actually saw and heard: something which we had an opportunity to observe closely and even to hold in our hands, and yet, as we know now, was something of the very Word of life himself! For it was life which appeared before us: we saw it, we are eye-witnesses of it, and are now writing to you about it. It was the very life of all ages, the life that has always existed with the Father, which actually became visible in person to us mortal men.

"We repeat, we really saw and heard what we are now writing to you about. We want you to be with us in this—in this fellowship with the Father and Jesus Christ his Son. We must write and tell you about it, because the more that fellowship extends the greater the joy it brings to us who are already in it.”

The life the apostles saw was the life of the Father and the Son that always existed, before time, before the foundation of the world. This life became visible in the person of Jesus Christ, which always existed with the Father.

“We want you to be with us in this—in this fellowship with the father and Jesus Christ His Son (that always existed in the eternals). We must write and tell you about it, because the more that fellowship extends the greater the joy it brings to us who are already in it.”

“The more THAT fellowship extends the greater the joy it brings to us WHO ARE ALREADY IN IT.” It is the fellowship of the Father and the Son that Jesus came to bring us and to extend on this planet. John is not writing about a future heaven but of the fellowship with the Father and Jesus Christ His Son RIGHT NOW! to those of “us who are already in it.”

"I will continue to speak of Yourname Father, in order that Your love, which was poured out on Me, will be in them, and I will be in them."  John 17:26

ACT ONE
THE FELLOWSHIP BEFORE TIME

WHILE SOME STORIES BEGIN
“Once upon a time,”

NOT THIS STORY.

You must realize that this story,
THE STORY OF ALL STORIES,

Begins……………………….before time,

before ALL beginnings or endings or anything in be tween.

In Eternity Past,

Before Time existed…
or Space
or Matter

There was God and God was…

“ALL IN ALL!”

There were no heavens or firmament to contain HIM

for HE was EVERYTHING.

There were no...
Angels
Cherubs
Or Seraphim.

No Devils
Or Fallen Angels.

No Sun, Moon or Stars.
No Galaxies or Supernovas.
No Rainbows or Rainstorms.
No Mountains or Oceans.

No Men or Children of Men.
And certainly...there Were no holy "things.”

NO HOLY…
Temples
Churches.
Synagogues.
Cathedrals.
Kingdom Halls.
NO HOLY…
Steeples.
Stained Glass.
Sermons.
NO HOLY..
Clergy.
Bishops.
Archbishops.
Priests.
NO HOLY…
Choirs.
Masses.
Orders of Service.
Hierarchies.
Liturgies.
NO HOLY…
Sacraments.
Vestments.
Altars
Pulpits
T.V. Preachers

No-THING existed because God
Who is infinite personality…

This Triune community of
Father,
Son and
Spirit

Was…(And this bears repeating)

“ALL IN ALL!”

Yes, Beloved. There was ONLY GOD
and GOD was EVERYTHING!
And while nothing else existed,
The most staggering thing of all…
This God…Who was EVERYTHING…
And ALL that existed was…
and still is…
and always shall be…

L O V E!

You see…there was a communion, A fellowship of L O V E!
IN God and TOWARD God…
In the L O V E of the FATHER for the SON
and the Son for the Father
and this L O V E was the Height and Depth
The Breadth and Width
of ALL that God was
Who Was Everything!

GOD WAS “IN-LOVE” WITH GOD
And this L O V E was IN God and Could be found
Nowhere else.

At least…Not yet!

THIS CELESTIAL DANCE
EXISTED IN THE GODHEAD
BEFORE TIME!

The FATHER and the SON
delighted in each other’s company…in each other’s hearts…
and especially…in beholding each other’s faces.
And this rhapsody of L O V E was the

PASSION and PLEASURE Of God’s heart
Flowing like a torrential river.

And this rhapsody of L O V E had a name—
and its name was...

S P I R I T!

The Comforter
The Helper
The Spirit was the Outflow,
The Music of the Dance going on in the Godhead
Before Time.
Before the Foundation of the World.

The Outpouring of their L O V E!
Bursting forth as a fountain of
JOY UNSPEAKABLE
Out of the Throne of their Heart
One-toward-the-Other.

And it looked like…

C E L E S T I A L F I R E!

The Father delighted IN HIS Son.

He called HIS Son—

“THE BELOVED.”

The Son lived IN the bosom of the Father,
beholding HIS Father’s face.
The Son delighted IN the Father
and called HIS Father—

“ABBA.”

Behold! How They Loved Each Other!

Only The Father Sees And Knows The Son.
Only The Son Sees And Knows The Father. (Mat. 11:25-27).
Hear now the Son speak of
All that existed before Time,
When there was nothing but God
and God’s L O V E toward and in God was
ALL IN ALL:

“Father…You loved Me before the foundation of the world…yea, when You established the heavens, I was there…beside You, like a Master Workman, and I was daily Your delight, rejoicing before You always” (John 17:24, Proverbs 8:267, 30).

Hear now the Father speak of
All that existed before Time,
When there was nothing else but God
and God’s L O V E toward and in God was
ALL IN ALL:

“This is my Beloved Son in Whom my soul delights.
I loved HIM before the foundation of the world.” (Matthew 12:18-20).

And in their love for one another
And out of their love they conceived a plan...
A staggering plan
Beyond all comprehension…
To expand their fellowship
On a planet they would call
“earth.”

Glory, glory, glory, praise and adoration!
Hear the anthems swelling out thro' all eternity!
Father, Son, and Spirit--God in revelation--
Prostrate each soul before the Deity!

Father, source of glory, naming every fam'ly;
And the Son upholding all by His almighty power;
Holy Spirit, filling the vast scene of glory--
O glorious Fulness, let our hearts adore!

God supreme, we worship now in holy splendor,
Head of the vast scene of bliss, before Thy face
  we fall!
Majesty and greatness, glory, praise and power
To Thee belong, eternal Source of all!

THE KING SPEAKS ABOUT HIS CHURCH?

THE KING SPEAKS ABOUT HIS GATHERED ASSEMBLY

"I AM above all rule, authority, power, dominion; over every name invoked, over every title bestowed in this age and the next.  My Father has placed all things beneath My feat and appointed Me the universal Head of My church. No Pope, no Preachers, no Vicars, no Pastors, no Bishops or Archbishops, but I alone am Head of My church. All others are interlopers and usurpers. Know My brothers that My Headship is not exercised through one or two so-called “ordained” clergy members but is exercised throughout My assembled gathering, which is My body, the fullness of My Presence that fills, and is filling, ALL IN ALL—for in My body lives My full measure, not a partial measure, but My full measure as I express Myself through each member. In this way, I make everything everywhere complete; nobody gets left out (Eph. 1:22-23).

If two or three gather in My name, there I will be in the midst of you. It is My purpose that My Spirit, who comes in My name, will remain constantly with you and will dwell in each one of you (John 14:16-17). The Father will send Him to you in My name and He will teach you everything and remind you of all I have said to you (John 14:26). I will send Him to you, the Great Helper, from the Father, even the Spirit of truth. He comes from the Father and will point to the truth as it concerns Me (John 16:26). He will come and guide you in all truth. He will not speak His own words to you; He will speak what He hears, revealing to you the things to come and bringing glory to Me. He has unlimited access to Me, to all that I possess and know, just as everything the Father has is Mine. He will guide you “into” the reality of the truth of My church apostolic. His anointing is on you. You are not lacking any teaching. But as His anointing teaches you all things, His teaching to you is this: “Remain connected to Me and My Headship over you.” You can also be sure of the fact that He has come and given you a mind so that you may know Me who is true. You live in this truth, in My life given to you (I John 5:20).

But know this: Wolves have crept in among you not sparing My flock. My emissary Paul warned about them. He gathered the elders of Ephesus together and said to them: “I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you ravaging the flock. And from among you yourselves men will rise up to the front speaking perverted things to draw away the disciples after them” (Acts 20:29-30). (See "The Social Order of Wolves: http://alphawolfsabrina.webs.com/socialorderandvisual.htm)

.

In the name of preventing heresy in the church, Ignatius and other contemporaries of My apostles, brought in the Nicolaitan heresy which I hate (see: http://www.biblestudy.org/basicart/why-does-god-hate-practices-of-the-nicolaitans.html or http://latter-rain.com/eschae/nicola.htm)  Rather than My body holding to My Headship as Sovereign and Supreme, the Nicolaitan heresy traded My Headship for the rule and traditions of men. And rather than all of My saints being equal members of My body, joint participants in My church, the Nicolaitan spirit raised themselves up in My place 'over" My flock:

“Be eager to do everything in godly harmony, the bishop presiding in the place of God and the presbyters in the place of the council of the apostles and the deacons…”  Ignatius

“It is not permissible either to baptize or to hold a love feast without the bishop.” Ignatius

“Do nothing without the bishop.” Ignatius

“…whoever does anything without the bishop and presbytery and deacons does not have a clean conscience.” Ignatius

“Be subject to the bishop as to Jesus Christ.” Ignatius

My apostolic teaching was built on gold, silver and precious stones. This teaching, the teaching of the Nicolaitans, the division of My body into Clergy and Laity, I find detestable!

As Sovereign Head, the Only Head, My purpose for My church is that through My body, each and every member of my body, My complicated, many-sided wisdom in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities in the heavenly sphere (Eph. 3:10).

Now perhaps you are wondering how I purpose to do this? You see, when I ascended on high, I led captivity captive, and I bestowed My gifts on men. I ascended on high that I might fill all things, the whole universe, FROM THE LOWEST TO THE HIGHEST. Notice that last phrase again: “from the lowest to the highest.” I work from the bottom up, not the top down (Eph. 4:10-11). I turn the world’s notions of “hierarchy” upside down. “From the lowest to the highest.”

“You need some perspective here. My Kingdom is not run like the power-brokers of this world’s system. Their rulers have great power over the people, but My Father doesn’t play by their rules. This is the Kingdom’s logic: whoever wants to become great must first make himself a servant; whoever wants to be first must bind himself as a slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as the ransom for many” (Matthew 20:25-28)

“The kingdoms of this world love their hierarchical structures of power and prestige. You know that in the world, rulers lord it over their subjects and their great men make them feel the weight of their worldly authority; but this shall not be so with you. Among you, whoever wants to be great must be your servant and whoever would be first must be the willing slave of all” Mat. 20:25-27).

For this reason, it is my desire that no one be held above another. Those who elevate themselves above My brothers by the presumption of so-called ecclesiastical authority will be brought low, so very low. Hear Me now:

Do not let anyone call you “Rabbi” (teacher), for you are all brothers and you have only one Teacher. Indeed, do not call anyone on earth “Father,” for you have only one Father, and He is in heaven. Don’t let anyone call you “leader,” for you have one Leader—and I AM HE. If you seek recognition in My body, be recognized by your lowly service. Delight in the one who calls you servant. Delight in the one who does not notice you at all. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted (Matt. 23:8-12.

This is such a far cry from those who seek the highest places in My church, who dress the part of high-church officials dressed in such pomp and ceremony. I want you to understand what a serious matter this is for I hate the teaching and practices of the Nicolaitans who sought “power over My people, the so-called “laity.”

Now while I did hand down to My Church gifted men, they did not lord it over their brothers—they were My apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastor-teachers—so that My people, would be thoroughly equipped to do the work of the ministry, to the building up of My body in love.

As you minister and build up My body as members one of another, you will no longer be like children, tossed around here and there upon ocean waves, picked up by every gust of religious teaching spoken by liars or swindlers or deceivers. Instead, as you speak the Truth in Love to each other, you will grow in every way into the fullest sense of My life—for I alone am the Head of My church, and it is from My Head that My whole body grows by the proper functioning of individual parts to its full maturity in love. Not apostles, prophets, evangelists, or pastor-teachers, but I alone am your Shepherd-Pastor, your Chief Apostle, your Prophet, Priest and King (Eph. 4:14-15). I must repeat Myself here: It is from My Headship that My body grows by the proper functioning of individual parts to its full maturity in love.”

I am the One, not self-named “apostles” or “prophets” or “bishops,” who join and hold together the whole body with its ligaments that provide the support needed to each part so that each part works to its proper design and function to form a healthy, growing and mature body that--now listen to Me--that “builds itself up in love” (Eph. 4:16). My apostles, prophets, evangelists and pastor-teachers are not responsible for building up My body because, under My Headship, my body “builds itself up in love.” My "ligaments" in the body are invisible; they have such a low profile. But they know and glory in their function which is to facilitate movement in My body.

My prophet Ezekiel spoke of My Headship in this way:

“And I will raise up over them one Shepherd and He shall feed them, even My servant David. He shall feed them and be their Shepherd. I the Lord will be their God, and My servant David shall be prince among them—I the Lord have spoken it.” (Ezekiel 34L23)

David had fallen asleep. I AM The King Shepherd over my flock. My sheep know My voice and they follow Me.

So, you might ask, “Lord, what are we to do in our gatherings unto You?”

So this I say: “Abide in Me and allow My words to Abide in You as you teach one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing and making melody in your hearts to My Headship and glory in your midst as your Shepherd, Prophet, Priest, and King. (Colossians 3:16).

And do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together as some have but encourage one another, be devoted to one another, teach and train one another, pray for one another, confess your sins to one another. (Hebrews 10:25).

Now I need to say something about the scriptures. I have inspired all scripture, and have breathed into them My thoughts and purposes. They are profitable for your teaching, rebuke, correction, instruction, and training for a life that is right.” (2 Tim. 3:16). No one likes “rebuke,” but from time to time, it is necessary. I say this to your shame because many have set aside My inspired teaching regarding My church and have set up their own forms of godliness which deny the power of My sovereign Headship. My scriptures cannot be broken (John 10:35), but sadly, the unfolding of my thoughts for My church have been set aside as no-longer profitable for teaching, rebuke, correction, instruction, and training for a life that is right.” My letter to the Ephesians spoke of My exalted purpose for My church, but My letter to the Corinthians is the key that unlocks Ephesian’s truth in practical ways.

So let me turn to some issues about spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters. There’s so much you need to learn. Remember the way you used to live when you were pagans apart from Me? You were engrossed—enchanted with voiceless idols, led astray by mere images carved by human hands. Although they couldn’t move, they somehow moved you. With that in mind, I want you to understand that no one saying ”Jesus is cursed” is operating under My Spirit, and no one saying “Jesus is Lord” can do so without My Spirit’s inspiration. Now there are many kinds of grace-gifts, but they are all from My Spirit. There are many different ways to serve, but they’re all directed by My providence. There are many amazing working-gifts in the church, but it is the work of My Father who energizes them all in all who have the gifts.

I have given to each believer a gift that manifests My power and presence. That gift is given for the good of the whole community. I give one person a word of wisdom but to the next person a word of knowledge. To another I give the gift of faith, and still another gifts of healing—all from My one and the same Spirit. One person is enabled by My Spirit to perform miracles, another to prophesy, while another is enabled to distinguish those prophetic spirits. The next one speaks in various kinds of unknown languages, while another is able to interpret those languages. I work all these things in each person as I see fit.

Just as I made your body a single whole made up of many diffident parts, and all the different parts comprise the one body, so it is with My Presence among you. You were all baptized together into My body by My Spirit. No matter your heritage—Jew or Greek, Catholic or Protestant, Evangelical or Pentecostal, high church or low church, insider or outsider—no matter your status—oppressed or free—you were all given My Spirit to drink. So drop your sectarian claims to be followers of a Paul, or Peter, or Apollos, or Popes and celebrity preachers but rather do this: Come to Me that You might have real life.

Now My body is not made of one large part but of many different parts. Would it seem right for My foot to cry, “I am not a hand, so I couldn’t be part of My body?” Even if it did, it wouldn’t be any less joined to My body. And what about an ear? If an ear started to whine, “I am not an eye; I shouldn’t be attached to this body,” in all its pouting, it is still part of My body. Imagine if My entire body was just an eye. How would a giant eye have the sense to hear? And if My entire body were an ear, how would I have the sense to smell?

This is where I come in. I have meticulously put My body together; I placed each part in the exact place to perform the exact function I want. If all My members were a single part, where would My body be? Why is it that many churches claim to be “the body of Christ” but focus on just one member who they call “the preacher?” How can My body be a single part? I designed My body so that many members function within My one body. My eye cannot wail at the hand, “I have no need for you!” nor could My head bellow at the feet, “I won’t go one more step with you!” It’s actually the opposite. My members who seem to have the weaker functions are necessary to keep My body moving. Remember, I work from the bottom up.  My body parts that seem less important you should treat as some of the most valuable, and those unfit, untamed, unpresentable members you should treat with an even greater modesty and honor. That’s something My more presentable members don’t need. But I designed My body in such a way that greater significance is given to My seemingly insignificant parts. That way there should be no division in My body; instead, all My parts mutually depend on and care for one another. If one part is suffering then all the members suffer alongside it. If one member is honored, then all the members celebrate alongside it, so honor the lowly among you.  You are My body; each and every one of you is a vital member.

I have appointed gifts in My assembly: first emissaries, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, healers, helpers, administrators, and then those who speak with various unknown languages. Are all My members gifted as emissaries? Are all gifted with prophetic utterances? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Or are all gifted in healing arts? Do all speak or interpret unknown languages. The answer to each of these questions, of course, is "no". Pursue the greater gifts…especially the gift of prophecy. You see, a person speaking in an unknown langue is not addressing the church because he is really talking to Me—those who overhear don’t understand because he is speaking in the Spirit the depths of My mysteries, depths which no man has ever searched out. But a person who has the gift of prophecy teaches in a way that builds up the community, draws them near, and comforts them. Those who speak in an unknown language only strengthen themselves, but those who prophesy strengthen the community. While I’d like for you all to be able to speak by My Spirit in unknown languages, my preference would be for you all to prophesy by the Spirit. Those who speak prophetically are My mouthpieces and are far more useful to My church than those who speak in exotic languages—unless there is another who interprets so that the community may be strengthened.

Now if I dropped down into your midst talking in unknown languages, what good would that be for any of you? What service to the community would that provide? You receive no benefit unless I speak to you some word of revelation, knowledge, prophecy, or instruction in your own language through My multi-splendored members. Look, if inanimate objects, musical instruments like a pipe or harp don’t make a clear, distinct sound, how would you know whether you’re listening to someone blow a pipe or strum a harp? If the bugle blares more like a clank, who would know to prepare for battle? It’s the same with you. Unless you speak a message in a language everyone understand, they won’t know what you’re talking about. You’ll be talking into the wind. This world is full of languages, each and every one of them having meaning, but if I don’t understand the meaning of some sound, then I become like a foreigner to the person speaking and the person speaking will be like a foreigner to me. It’s the same with you; in your passion for spiritual gifts, seek to strengthen the community of believers and you will all be better off.

So anyone who speaks in an unknown language should pray for the ability to interpret because if one prays in such a language, although their spirit prays, their mind isn’t productive. What should you do then? Pray yes. Pray with your spirit but also with your mind engaged; sing with your spirit but also with your mind engaged. If you speak a word of blessing in the spirit only, then how will an uninformed person who can’t understand your prayer say “Amen” when you are done giving thanks? Even though you give thanks to Me well, the unknowing person doesn’t benefit.

Be thankful if you speak in unknown languages, but when the church gathers, I would rather you speak five words with your mind so others can understand and be trained by your words rather than utter 10,000 exotic words.

Brothers and sisters, don’t think like children. Be innocent of malice but mature in understanding. This is what I spoke through Isaiah:

“I will send my message to this people

With strange languages and

Foreign lips,

And even when that happens,

They will not listen to Me,”

So speaking in unknown languages is not a sign to the believing but a miracle to the unbelieving; prophecy, though, is not a sign to the unbelieving but for the believing. Imagine what would happen if My entire church gathered together speaking in different languages, one foreign to the next. Then people who have never heard of such a thing or unbelieving people walk up on all that’s going on. Would they not think each and every one of you were raving lunatics? But let’s say an outsider or unbeliever walks in on a different scene; all are speaking of My glory with great power and insight in a language they know. What then? Well, the outsider would come under the conviction of his own sins and be called to accountability by the words of all My members. The very secrets of his heart would be revealed by all, and right there—mystified—he would fall on his face and worship Me, proclaiming all the while that I, God of very God, am most certainly dwelling among you and speaking through you.

So, do you want meetings like this where my Presence is known in Your very midst? Well then, here’s the right course of meeting in My Name. When you come together, each person should come knowing they have a vital role because I have given to each one some gift for the edification of all. One person might have a song, another a teaching, still another a revelation from My heart. One person might speak in an unknown language, another will offer the interpretation, but all of this should be done to strengthen My life and Presence in My community. But if any do speak in an exotic language, limit it to two or three people at a time, and have them speak one at a time, while another interprets for the rest. If there is not an interpreter present, then the one should stay silent during the gathering, speaking only to Me under his breath. And do let two to three of My prophets speak in your meetings, and let others with discerning gifts evaluate the messages they hear. Now if in the course of things I give a message to another who is seated, then the first one speaking should be silent until this new message can be spoken. To avoid confusion and create a space where all can learn and be encouraged, let only one prophet speak at a time without interruption. You see, the prophetic spirits are under the control of the prophets. This is because I Am the author of order, not confusion. What I am telling you is to be in all the gatherings of the saints, not just those in Corinth… If you are reading this as the "clergy class" and thinking that My words come to the world by you alone, you are sadly mistaken. Do you think that you alone are My mouthpiece in My church? If you think that you are a spiritual person who alone deserves to be in the front of My church feeding it your great pearls of wisdom, know Oh prophet that these things I have written here are not options for My church gatherings; they are My commands. Whoever chooses to be ignorant of this will be treated as ignorant. So, my dear brothers and sisters, I speak to each one of you: passionately desire to prophesy in My meetings to build up My church, to speak the very oracles of God, but don’t ban the gift of speaking in unknown languages but follow the rules I have so plainly laid out and you will then maintain the proper order in all things.

I desire that none of you think of yourselves as being more important that you actually are, for I have given to each one of you a measure of faith. For in the same way that one body has so many different parts, each with different functions, you, too--the many--are different parts that form My one body.  Each one of you is joined with one another, mutually benefiting and mutually dependant, and you become together what you could not be alone.  Since My gifts vary depending on the My grace poured out on each of you, it is important that you exercise the gifts I have given you to build up My body.  If I have given you the excelling gift of prophecy, then speak as a prophet according to your proportion of faith.  If I have given you the helpful gift of service, then serve well.  If I have given you the eye-opening gift of teaching, then teach well.  If  I have given you the gift of encouragement, which is priceless, then use it often. If I have given you the gift of giving, then be generous. If I have given you the gift of leading My body to a fuller revelation of Myself, then be eager to get started. If I have gien you the gift of mercy, then be cheerful in sharing it.

Finally, you are coming to the end of all things, so be serious and keep your wits about you in order to pray more forecefully. Most of all, love each other steadily and unselfishly, because love makes up for many faults.  Show hospitality to each other without complaint.  Use whatever gifts I have given you for the good of one another so that you can show yourselves to be good stewards of My grace in all of its multi-splendored varieties. If I call on you to speak in the meeting, open your mouth and I will fill it.  If I call on you to serve others, serve through My strength in you. In these ways, our Father will be glorified in all of you through My working in you. This will redound to My glory and power, now and forever through My church. I Peter 4:7-11).

THE "ONE ANOTHER'S" OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH

"We do not know as well as we should like to know what the meetings of the first Christians were like in detail, but we have in the New Testament some extremely helpful indications. In any case we know enough to realize that these meetings were not at all what we think of as characteristic Christian gatherings in our own day. The probability is that there was no human audience at all and not the slightest thought of a pattern in which one man is expected to be inspired to speak fifty-two times a year, while the rest are never so inspired. A clear indication of procedure is proved by Colossians 3:16 where we read "as you teach and admonish one another in all wisdom." The most reasonable picture which these words suggest is that of a group of modest Christians sitting in a circle in some simple room, sharing with one another their hopes, their failures, and their prayers. The key words are "one another." There are no mere observers or auditors; all are involved. Each is in the ministry; each needs the advice of the others; and each has something to say to the others. The picture of mutual admonition seems strange to modern man, but the strangeness is only a measure of our essential decline from something of amazing power.” Elton Trueblood, The Company of the Committed

"Personally I am satisfied about you, my brethren, that you yourselves are rich in goodness, amply filled with all [spiritual] knowledge and competent to admonish and counsel and instruct one another also" (Romans 15:14).

IT CAME AS A REAL EPIPHANY TO ME in noticing all of the "one-another’s" of the New Testament. Most of us think of the Christian church as a "performance" that is attended on Sunday mornings while sitting in a pew looking at the back of another person's head. The "one-another’s" tell me that the early Christian enterprise was more of a face-to-face encounter with the brothers in real community rather than what we are most used to. I Corinthians 12 & 14 lays down the ground rules and the reason Christian are to meet, and here we find no mention of watching a performance of professional Christians directing the meeting while the rest of the Christian church sit as passive audience. The New Testament pattern states emphatically that the Holy Spirit has been given to each member for the profit of all (I Cor. 12:7). And Paul gives further instruction on Christian meetings in I Cor. 14:27 wherein he states:

"What is the right course brethren, when you assemble together, each one of you has a song, a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, and interpretation of tongues."

And then we come to Hebrews 10:24-25. This is the one place where we are commanded to meet together, but it is not for the purpose of being an audience to listen to sermons, but the reason the early church gathered was to "encourage one another." It couldn't be more explicit:

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Why are these apostolic instructions ignored in so many churches today? The same churches which claim to be "biblical?"

The picture I see of a New Testament meeting can be so easily visualized in our Lord's Last Supper. The early Christians often gathered to break-bread together. You can be sure that this was not an affair where everyone was sitting behind one another to listen to preaching, but to fellowship together around the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was the focus of their meeting together. His actual presence. Not so much discussion or preaching "about" Him, but His actual presence. The cry of the early church's heart was this:

"OH THAT WE MAY KNOW JESUS!"

Ephesians 2:22 says this:

"It is in Him [and in fellowship with one another] you yourselves also are being built up [into this structure] with the rest, to form a fixed abode (dwelling place) of God in (by, through) the Spirit."
No mention here of listening to "sermons." Perhaps they have their place, but one is hard-pressed to find the central place sermons had in the early church to the place of prominence we have given them in our modern gatherings. The overwhelming emphasis is on the fellowship of the saints around the Lord Jesus Christ. This is seen in this early church meeting in Antioch, Acts 13:1-3:
"Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. And while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off."

No mention here of these brothers listening to sermons but of "ministering to the Lord." He was the focus of their meeting together. He was the one they gathered together to "listen" to. No clergy was present at this meeting to expound on the scriptures, but Jesus Christ was encountered in this meeting because He was the reason they assembled.

If one looks at the "one-another’s" of the New Testament, one can easily come to the settled conclusion the early church didn't focus their time and attention to a special clergy class teaching them the rudiments of the doctrine of Christ. What I see is a fellowship that was "face-to-face" and their teaching was of "one another:" (Romans 15:4; Col. 3:16; Eph. 5:19; 1 Peter 4:10; Hebrews 10:25).

Here are the commands of the Spirit regarding the face-to-face nature of what our Lord is after. The work of a clergy class was done through the ministry of the "one another’s," through the common priest-hood of all the saints. Would to God that the central place of "sermonizings" would become secondary to a quality of fellowship that shook the Roman world, face-to-face with Christ as the Head of His church, the MC, the central figure.

The early Christians were awash in the person and presence of Jesus Christ. Each church was built on the foundation of Christ, conceived by apostolic ministry that preached a full Christ and then equipped each church to "build itself up up in love" through the fellowship of the common saints without a division of labor we commonly know as the clergy and the laity. Each member was called into the ministry to build up the body of Christ. May we be a people who strive to walk in God's Eternal Purpose for His church, yearning for His High Calling in Christ Jesus, and seek no rest for our eyes until His House is built on the earth without human headship but only one Teacher, Preacher, Pastor, Priest for His people, through His people, by His people.

"For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, WHEN EACH PART [with power adapted to its need] IS WORKING PROPERLY [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, BUILDING ITSELF UP IN LOVE." Eph. 4:16-17

"BUT YOU ARE NOT TO BE CALLED RABBI (TEACHER), FOR YOU HAVE ONE TEACHER AND YOU ARE ALL BROTHERS. And do not call anyone [in the church] on earth father, for you have one Father, Who is in heaven. And you must not be called masters (leaders), for you have one Master (Leader), the Christ. He who is greatest among you shall be your servant." Mathew 23:8-11
